āHello, my name is Anna Rexford from Lexington, KY.
I started training with Jim my junior year of high school. Before Jim, I didnāt know how to properly treat or train my body as an athlete. As a goalkeeper in soccer, it was hard to know what to do to be the best in my position.
Jim taught me how to become a healthier individual and prepared me for the Division 1 level of college athletics. Through working with him, I became a stronger and more well-rounded athlete ā both mentally and physically.
Jim truly taught me invaluable lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Much of my success is from the foundation and principles he gave me.ā
Anna was a 5-year starter for the University of Cincinnati womenās soccer team (2020ā2024) and is now an assistant womenās soccer coach at Youngstown State.Ā

āHey Jim! Iāve been meaning to update you and also say thank you.
This year has been pretty rough health-wise, but I finally got some real answers last month. I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis and adenomyosis.
My pelvic floor therapist was super impressed when I told her you were actually the first person who ever mentioned pelvic floor PT to me. She said sheād never heard of a trainer suggesting that to a client before.
Thank you for always being ahead of the curve and really caring about what was going on with my body beyond just the workouts. It honestly means a lot and makes me feel really seen.ā

Girls Gone Strong Founder Molly Galbraith on Coach Jim Laird
"To be honest, my training mentor and (former) business partner Jim Laird is an absolutely brilliant trainer who had crazy success with his clients.ā
Molly Galbraith, founder of Girls Gone Strong, called Jim her training mentor and business partner. They co-owned J&M Strength & Conditioning and worked together to help thousands of women train smarter and more sustainably.
I joined Jim's coaching program in February 2025. Six months later, I've renewed my membership because it's been helping me so much. I have hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). These conditions have caused a significant degree of disability. I can't lift anything remotely heavy, and I have to do exercises very carefully. Jim did a video assessment and assigned me some very gentle, safe exercises that I've built on over time. Mostly floor exercises and isometrics. When I started, it was difficult for me to even get up and down from the floor. Now I can do that pretty easily. Lower back pain that had been getting worse for more than a year and got so bad it made it hard for me to bend over and put on my shoes is almost completely gone now. My posture is improving, and my breathing is easier. I'm in less pain, and I'm getting stronger. I still have my ups and downs with these health conditions, but on the whole, I'm doing much better. I'm so grateful. I was hitting a wall in physical therapy, but with Jim's guidance, I finally feel like I'm taking steps forward. He doesn't use a cookie-cutter approach. He'll look at the big picture, think outside the box, and customize exercises to your specific needs. The guidance on diet and sleep habits has also been really helpful. The weekly coaching calls are great for keeping me on track and answering questions. I highly recommend this program. Jim knows how to work with people, whatever their starting point is.
